Lansio ap newydd i dracio ac olrhain y coronafeirws
Mae’r Prif Weinidog Mark Drakeford a GIG Cymru yn apelio ar y cyhoedd yng Nghymru i lawrlwytho ap Traciwr Symptomau COVID i helpu’r GIG i ymateb i COVID-19 yng Nghymru.
Gofynnir i bobl ledled Cymru gofnodi eu symptomau dyddiol er mwyn helpu i greu darlun cliriach o sut mae’r feirws yn effeithio ar bobl. Mae’r ap ar gyfer pawb, nid dim ond y rhai sydd â symptomau.
Wedi’i ddatblygu gan ymchwilwyr yng Ngholeg King’s yn Llundain a chwmni gwyddoniaeth gofal iechyd, ZOE, mae’r Traciwr Symptomau COVID-19 yn cael ei ddefnyddio eisoes gan fwy na 38,000 o bobl yng Nghymru, a mwy na 2 filiwn ledled y DU. Mae pobl yn defnyddio’r ap i dracio eu hiechyd dyddiol ac unrhyw symptomau COVID-19 posib. Mae hefyd yn cael ei ddefnyddio gan weithwyr gofal iechyd ac ysbytai.
Bydd data o ap Traciwr Symptomau COVID-19 yn cael eu rhannu’n ddyddiol gyda Llywodraeth Cymru a GIG Cymru. Bydd yn rhoi arwydd cynnar o ble fydd y derbyniadau i ysbytai yn y dyfodol.
Bydd gwyddonwyr o Goleg King’s yn Llundain a’r Banc Data Cyswllt Diogel Gwybodaeth Ddienw (SAIL) ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe yn gweithio gyda Llywodraeth Cymru i ddadansoddi’r data fel sail i fodelu, deall a rhagweld sefyllfa’r afiechyd fel mae’n datblygu yng Nghymru.
Dywedodd y Prif Weinidog, Mark Drakeford:
Mae cael tystiolaeth a data amrywiol yn hanfodol er mwyn ein helpu ni i greu darlun clir o sut mae’r feirws yn ymddwyn ac yn effeithio ar fywydau pawb. Yn allweddol, gall yr ap yma ein helpu ni i ragweld ardaloedd allweddol posib ar gyfer COVID a chael gwasanaethau’r GIG yn barod yno. Rydw i’n gofyn i bawb yng Nghymru lawrlwytho’r ap Traciwr Symptomau COVID-19 newydd, er mwyn i chi allu helpu i warchod ein gweithwyr ac achub bywydau. Gyda’n gilydd fe allwn ni greu’r darlun gwyddonol gorau fel ein bod mewn sefyllfa well i frwydro yn erbyn yr afiechyd dychrynllyd yma.
Mae’r tîm ymchwil yng Ngholeg King’s yn Llundain a ZOE yn dadansoddi’r data i greu gwybodaeth newydd am yr afiechyd. Mae map rhyngweithiol sy’n dangos dosbarthiad COVID yn eu hardal ar gael i bawb yn covid.joinzoe.com yn ogystal â diweddariadau gwyddonol rheolaidd.
Dywedodd yr Athro Ymchwil Arweiniol o Goleg King’s yn Llundain, Tim Spector:
Mae data amser real manwl gywir yn hanfodol os ydyn ni am drechu’r afiechyd yma. Heb brofi manwl gywir ac eang mae’n hanfodol bod gennym ni gymaint o ddata â phosib i’n helpu ni i ragweld ble rydyn ni’n mynd, i weld y cynnydd nesaf o ran galw, fel bod modd defnyddio adnoddau’n effeithiol yn barod i ddiwallu anghenion y cleifion. Mae cefnogaeth Llywodraeth Cymru a GIG Cymru yn gam eithriadol bositif i’r cyfeiriad cywir ac rydyn ni’n gobeithio gweld grwpiau eraill y GIG yn ymuno â ni yn ystod y dyddiau nesaf.
Hoffem fanteisio ar y cyfle yma i ddiolch i bob un person sydd eisoes yn cymryd rhan a byddem yn annog pawb arall i lawrlwytho’r ap a mewngofnodi bob dydd, os oes gennych chi unrhyw symptomau neu os ydych chi’n teimlo’n iach.

New app launched to track and trace
coronavirus
First Minister Mark Drakeford and NHS Wales are
appealing to the Welsh public to download a new COVID Symptom Tracker app to
help the NHS response to COVID-19 in Wales.
People across Wales are being asked to log their
daily symptoms to help build a clearer picture of how the virus is affecting
people. The app is for everyone, not just those who are experiencing symptoms.
Developed by researchers at King’s College London
and healthcare science company, ZOE, the COVID-19 Symptom Tracker is already
being used by more than 38,000 people in Wales, and over 2 million across the
UK. People are using the app to track their daily health and any potential
COVID-19 symptoms. It is also being used by healthcare and hospital workers.
Data from the COVID-19 Symptom Tracker app will be
shared daily with the Welsh Government and NHS Wales. It will give early
indications of where future hospital admissions are going to be.
Scientists from Kings College London and the Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank at Swansea University will work with the Welsh Government to analyse the data to inform modelling and understand and predict the developing situation of the disease in Wales.

First Minister, Mark Drakeford said:
Having a range of evidence and data is crucial in
helping us build a clear picture of how the virus is behaving and affecting
everyone’s lives. Crucially this app can help us anticipate potential COVID hot
spots and get our NHS services ready. I’m asking everyone in Wales to download
the new COVID Symptom Tracker app, so you can help protect our workers and save
lives. Together we can build the best scientific picture so we are better armed
to fight this terrible disease.
The research team at King’s College London and ZOE
are analysing the data to generate new insights about the disease. An
interactive map allowing anyone to see the distribution of COVID in their area
is available at covid.joinzoe.com
as well as frequent science updates.
Lead researcher Professor Tim Spector from King’s
College London, says:
Accurate real-time data is essential if we are to
beat this disease. Without accurate and wide spread testing it’s essential that
we have much data as possible to help us predict where we are going to see the
next spikes in demand so that resources can be effectively deployed ahead of
time to meet the needs of the patients. The support of the Welsh Government and
NHS Wales is an incredibly positive step in the right direction and we hope to
see other NHS groups coming on board in the coming days.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank
every single person who is already participating, and would urge everyone else
to download the app and check in every day, whether you are experiencing any
symptoms or feeling fine.
The app is available to download from the Apple App
Store and Google Play from the links at covid.joinzoe.com.
