CORONAVIRUS UP-DATE - FOODBANK OPENING TIMES

It has been necessary to make a few more changes to the opening times and access to food locations. Our aim is to ensure that those who are vulnerable in our community and are unable to pay for food themselves, can access food as easily as possible whilst ensuring that everyone is maintaining the correct social distancing and keeping safe, not least of which being our own volunteers. Thankfully, the work of the foodbank is classed as a 'Key Public Service' giving us the ability to continue moving around. We do ask for everyone to be patient if we do not answer the phone quick enough, are not open when we said we would be or if we have run out of boxes in any particular location. It is recognised that many Agencies have either closed their offices or are working from home. As it may not be possible for a client to actually physically obtain a voucher could the Agency please ring the foodbank on 07973914599 to advise that they wish a client to obtain food.

The following list gives the revised access arangements at our various locations, please note the additional location at Capel Fron, Penrhyndeudraeth:

Foodbank Centre, Barmouth -

The centre is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 10.30am to 2.30pm for food parcels to be collected by clients or Agencies and for donations to be dropped off. To maintain the social distancing you will now need to ring the bell to call for attention. Our volunteers will respond and give instructions. You will then be allowed into the lobby only PLEASE DO NOT GO PAST THE INNER DOORS.

Dolgellau Methodist Church -

The Emergency Food Boxes normally located at the Mantell Gwynedd Office have been moved to Dolgellau Methodist Church, near to the Post Office sorting office. The opening times are Mondays,

Wednesdays and Fridays from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. These times may change as time goes by.  Clients or Agencies need to go to the side door where volunteers from the church will receive them.  Please bear in mind that these volunteers have not worked with the foodbank before and please take instructions regarding social distancing.

The Big Rock Cafe, Porthmadog -

Both the Cafe and Shop are now closed. Emergency Food Boxes can be made available on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10.00am to 2.00pm but clients or Agents MUST ring 07973914599 to arrange access.

Advent Christian Bookshop, Tywyn -

As Advent is closed they will only be open to give out food parcels on Mondays and Thursdays from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

Manna Christian Bookshop, Bala -

As with Advent, Manna is not considered an essential service so has also closed. Clients or Agents are asked to ring the Ann Davies on 07969362508 to advise that a food box is required. She will then arrange a time for a volunteer to attend the shop and give out the food box.

Capel Fron, Penrhyndeudraeth -

Emergency Food Boxes can be made available from Capel Fron on Mondays to Fridays but clients or Agents MUST ring 07973914599 to arrange access.
